By accessing and using Follow the Money ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Follow the Money is a non-partisan civic transparency platform that makes federal campaign finance data accessible and visual. We aggregate publicly available data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and other government sources.
3. Data Accuracy
We strive for accuracy in all data presented. However, we cannot guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free. Our data is derived from public government sources and is subject to the limitations described in our Methodology page. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
4. Permitted Use
You may use the Service for:
- Personal research and civic engagement
- Journalism and media reporting with proper attribution
- Academic research and education
- Non-commercial redistribution with attribution
5. Prohibited Use
You may not:
- Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download data without permission
- Misrepresent the data or remove source attribution
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws
- Attempt to interfere with the Service's operation
6. Attribution
When sharing or republishing data from Follow the Money, please include attribution to "Follow the Money (followthemoney.app)" and note that the original data source is the Federal Election Commission.
7. Limitation of Liability
Follow the Money and its operators shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to decisions made based on the data presented.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
